Free The Land Shorts by The Black School
Free The Land Shorts by The Black School
Prospect New Orleans is proud to offer The Black School’s first release in their newest clothing collection, Free the Land, available at our store. This capsule draws inspiration from Malcolm X's powerful message on Black liberation, as shared in his 1963 Message to the Grassroots speech, where he stated, “Revolution is based on land. Land is the basis of all independence. Land is the basis of freedom.”
Blending elements of 1980s Japanese cyberpunk anime Akira, this collection reimagines the story of the Republic of New Afrika—a Black radical organization founded in 1968 to realize Malcolm’s vision of an independent Black nation in the Southeastern United States.
